Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of FolioReader ("the service"), operated by Lim Chee Hau ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use FolioReader.

1. The service

FolioReader is a PDF reader that lets you upload documents, read them, add annotations, highlights, bookmarks and notes, and sync your library across devices. The free plan is limited to 30 documents, with each file up to 100 MB. We may change these limits or add paid plans in future; we will update this page when that happens.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use FolioReader.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the PDFs and annotations you upload. You give us only the permission needed to store, process and display them to you so the service can work. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not share it with other users.

You confirm that you have the right to upload and use the documents you add, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• upload unlawful content or content that infringes copyright or other rights;
• upload malware or files designed to harm the service or other people;
• attempt to access other users' data, or disrupt or overload the service;
• use automated means to create accounts or bulk-upload content.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account) or via the account deletion page. Your data is then permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

6. Availability and backups

We work to keep FolioReader available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your own copies of important documents.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page for material changes. Continued use of FolioReader after changes means you accept the updated terms.
